David Hyams Fremantle instrumentalist David Hyams brings his brand of celtic and other roots-influenced instrumentals to the Guildford Hotel. The performance will feature material from the album "Miles to Go", which continues to attract wide critical acclaim. The album is now distributed nationally by Tempo Records and has recently become the only Australian album selected for inclusion in Community Aid Abroad's mail order catalogue of world music. As well as featuring David on guitar, mandolin and dobro, the "Miles to Go" band will feature the line up that has dazzled audiences at recent shows - a surprising and innovative combination of musicians from diverse musical and cultural backgrounds. The rhythm section consists of hot percussionist Dana Ogle alongside respected jazz/funk bassist Marcus Dengate; former Devils on Horseback instrumentalists Andy Copeman and Pete Grandison; WA Symphony Orchestra cellist Sally Maer; trombonist Nola Formentin and a front line featuring Dougal Adams and the Fling's Ormonde Waters, two of Australia's premier players of wind instruments in the celtic tradition. |
