DANIEL SUSNJAR - DRUMSCAPES - JOURNEYS INTO SOLO DRUMMING
Drummer Daniel Susnjar returns to KULCHA following his highly successful World Groove Collective concert in January. This time, he goes it alone and will present a unique blend of solo acoustic drumming melded with computer generated soundscapes.
Currently based in the USA where he is completing his Master of Music degree at the University of Miami, Daniel has performed with some of the biggest names in contemporary jazz and world music.

VJ IN DUB - MASONIK & Vjzoo
VJ in Dub will be a unique sound and visual experience. Masonik and VJzoo will be exploring the multidimensional dub genre through live reconstructions of sound and light. This gig will feature multi-screens including projections to buildings across from KULCHA.
VJzoo have performed across Australia, Europe and the US, while Masonik have had numerous local residencies. Their music can only be described as world fusion dub, with influences from Greece, India, Pakistan and the Middle East.

VALANGA KHOZA - KIDS SHOW
Musician, singer and storyteller Valanga Khoza charms his audiences with beautiful sounds from many traditional instruments such as the kalimba (thumb piano) and shijoro (jaw harp) as well as irresistible rhythms from the guitar, stick drums and Valanga's velvety voice.
His personal stories are woven together with humour and wit, while his stories about the magical African dreamtime are a breathtaking experience for children of all ages.

This talented group of local musicians led by Sanjeev Naik prove that music overcomes all language barriers as they perform melodious Hindi hits, hot Punjabi tunes and lilting Marathi folk songs (Lavni).

VALANGA KHOZA -
Valanga Khoza will take you on a journey of stories and songs sparked by growing up in South Africa, travelling across the world as a refugee and eventually settling in Australia. With rich vocal melodies, rhythmic guitar and the lilting tones of kalimba, his collection of songs range from township jive to haunting traditionally inspired melodies.
All songs composed by Valanga tell stories of the past and present, reminding us of our shared humanity.

MACHAAM -
Four contemporary artists from diverse cultural, musical and personal backgrounds have collaborated to present work that addresses and acknowledges a meeting of forms and worlds.
Machaam is a work that uses classical Indian dance and storytelling within a contemporary setting as dancers Premala Sangarananda, Dawn Jackson and musician Arunachala Satgunasingam take the audience on a journey of being and becoming.

KRISTINA OLSEN -
A superb multi-instrumentalist as well as an award-winning songwriter with a big bluesy voice, Kristina has audiences around the world coming back for more. Her mix of powerful songs range from sassy bottleneck blues to lilting ballads to swing jazz to raunch and roll.
In 2008 she released her 11th recording, Quiet Blue. Her songs have been recorded by Eric Bibb, Fairport Convention, Mary Coughlan, Maddy Prior and Mollie O'Brien among others.

CLUB SOUNDTRACK
WILD COMBINATION- A PORTRAIT ARTHUR RUSSELL
The fourth in KULCHA and RTFM's bi-monthly Club Soundtrack micro-cinema series, screening new, unseen and obscure international music documentaries, followed by sets from RTRFM's best DJs.
Combination is director Matt Wolf's visually absorbing portrait of the seminal avant-garde composer, singer-songwriter, cellist, and disco producer Arthur Russell. Before his death from AIDS in 1992, Arthur prolifically created music that spanned both pop and the transcendent possibilities of abstract art.
The film incorporates rare archival footage and commentary from closest collaborators - including Philip Glass and Allen Ginsberg - to tell this poignant and important story. DJ BOKCHOY DJ Bokchoy from RTRFM's Looney Choons program will be laying down some smooth cuts of tech, electronica and minimal house. Presented with OUTinPerth.
$1 from every ticket will go to the Gay and Lesbian Counselling Service.
