Multicultural Australia is a series of artworks produced by Mexican-born artist Federico Medina. These works illustrate the outcomes of forums involving people from culturally and linguistically diverse communities. Federico has worked with many different communities assisting them to express their dreams and aspirations using his extensive teaching experience. Hassan Youssef presents a series of workshops with Dr Samir Gaber Beshai, one of Egypt's premier dance instructors,
an acclaimed professor of folkloric dance who pioneered Egypt's National Folk Troupe. The masterclasses will cover the theory, practice and traditions behind traditional snake, horse and stick dances, as well as Ghawazi, Awalim, Nubian, Haggala and Siwa folkloric dance. Come for one class or for all, then put it into practice with a concert at Kulcha Saturday 13 October. Accompanied by Seychellois singer and guitarist Jemmy Louange, Grace will perform traditional and contemporary favourites in Kreol, French and English from the islands of Seychelles, Mauritius, Madagascar and Reunion.
