French Rendez-Vous presents Archetype, a short film by French artist Marc Sordello.
This is the story of a woman who falls deeply in love and is unable to control her feelings, this artistic film recreates the popular French 'roman photo',
a sentimental genre of romantic photos and text portraying love and passion that dates to the postwar period.
Join in the discussion on the relationship between Marc's film and his visual works.

L'ANGLAIS TEL QU'ON LE PARLE - A Play in French and English
L'Anglais Tel Qu'on Le Parle, or English How We Speak It, is a comedy that screams the hilarity of language barriers. Written by Tristan Bernard at the beginning of the twentieth century, the play tells the story of a young English girl who leaves home to stay with her boyfriend in Paris. Presented in both French and English, L'Anglais Tel Qu'on Le Parle plays on the comical mishaps and misunderstandings that occur when translations go awry.

GREENHEAD - FILM SCREENING
Greenhead, by Mark Howett, is the tale of three men in the outback. Filmed on the hot, windswept Western Australian coastline, the short film stars acclaimed Indigenous actor Kelton Pell (One Night the Moon, Australian Rules), with debut performances from Matthew de la Hunty and Derek Kreckler. The screening will be followed by performances from Jeff Strong, Matthew de la Hunty and Rod Radali. (Film contains strong language and drug references)

East Timorese artist Maria Madeira launches her visual arts exhibition Lian Tatoli and the Harmonious Choir presents traditional songs.
Jah Era will end the night with their eclectic fusion of East Timorese, African and Reggae music: a cocktail of dance rhythms and melodic phrases.
