TENZING TSEWANG
|
Tibetan Musical Journey
Tenzing Tsewang is a professional Tibetan/Australian musician who has brought to Australia a unique mix of spiritual, cultural and contemporary music. Tenzing's music is his inner voice, combining the experiences of dispossessed peoples, a rich spiritual and folk culture and the struggles and joys of life as a migrant in Australia. With soft flute improvisations, ancient Tibetan chanting and mythical Tibetan folk songs, Tenzing takes his audience on a cultural and spiritual journey. Combining bamboo flute, clay flute, drum, cymbals and a voice trained in the arts of a chanting master, Tenzing's music is soothing, confronting, humorous and revealing. Recently, Tenzing has added to his repertoire the Tibetan guitar (dram-nyen), allowing him to capture the rich culture of Tibet in village songs, nomadic tunes and national songs of struggle and celebration.
