AFRO CELT NIGHT Fremantle Heritage Festival Two culturally diverse bands celebrating Fremantle's and KULCHA's diversity! David Hyams and the Miles to Go Band blend Celtic, country-blues and folk influences taking inspiration from journeys in the West Australian outback and through to the Celtic lands. African percussion legends Dunumba will finish the evening's entertainment with pulsating African beats, song and dance.

RACHEL HORE & MAL WEBB Folk Sounds Rachel Hore sang with the ground-breaking vocal group Arramaieda, before going solo three years ago. An outstanding songwriter with stunning vocals, she is described as ‘poppy, adventurous and folky.’ Rachel's songs are rich in Celtic and desert influences. She is accompanied by the fabulous Lenny Marks on guitar and supported by the talented vocal gymnast, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter Mal Webb. From Ballads, beatbox and beyond, the eclectic and ebullient Webb, a former member of Oxo Cubans, Sock and Totally Gourdgeous has worked alongside artists such as Ross Wilson and acted as Musical director for ‘The Adventures of Lano and Woodley’. |

SAMUEL J DASS* Indian Fusion Workshop This master workshop with sitar player Samuel J Dass is for anyone interested in Indian music. He is skilled in both Indian and Western styles and the workshop will focus on fusion music such as Indian jazz in addition to Indian classical music and Indian drumming (tabla). Participants are encouraged to bring their own instruments, ask questions and try a hands on approach to the workshop. Participants can also attend if they do not have instruments but are interested to learn about the music through asking questions of this master musician. 1 hour class. |
