    Actor Alirio Zarvarce and director Sam Haren will explore the skills of acting and performance, including improvisation, interpretation and character building, as well as the process of devising work and interpreting existing plays and texts. This is a hands-on practical 2-hour workshop for actors, performers and those interested in performance making.

    A seasoned performer from Senegal, West Africa. Performing worldwide with Cheihk Lo, Ernest Ranglin and a 10 year stint with Baaba Maal, Ziggy as a dancer/percussionist has gained the status of Master Drummer and Songwriter/Musician. Recently back from Asia, he will play few shows whilst in town. In Perth, he is supported by 7 piece dance band, the Ziggy Bey Jan Group, fusing Senegalese Boul Fale (bifal) in the Mbalax Ngwil style with Taassou rapping, jazz and funk influences.

    WA's own award-winning songwriter/performer Bernard Carney will play songs inspired by WA's unique environment and cultural mix, and songs especially commissioned for the opening of the new Maritime Museum in Fremantle. One of these won the Port Fairy Song competition this year, where Bernard was also named Artist of the Year. He will be accompanied by the multi-talented musician and composer David Hyams.
