    Roz Pappalardo and Chanel Lucas are Women in Docs. They are a lively and fun acoustic guitars and vocals duo from Queensland who's eclectic style has made them welcome at both Livid and the Woodford Folk Festival. Women in Docs have received airplay on the Triple J and their live concerts have been played on Radio National's Music Deli program. They will be joined by instrumentalist Silas Palmer.

    The Latin Gypsy Experiment combines the raw passion of Eastern European gypsies with the sensual rhythms of South America. Jessica Ipkendanz & Marco Quiroz of LC Salsa will inspire you with their new world sound. Afrique Acoustique is Ilan Zagoria, African style guitarist with AMC, Troy Gennoe also from AMC and Ziggy Mabeye Diagne, the Senegalese percussionist and singer who performed with Baba Maal for 10 years.

    a Musica Viva concert

    Sirocco is a group inspired by the many musical traditions found in Australia - from Arab to Aboriginal, from Celtic to Chinese. The group performs on a range of ancient and modern instruments that embody, describe, represent and speak to contemporary Australia. Numerous albums, regular international and hundreds of festival appearances later, Sirocco create a music that is loved. Sirocco will perform with Australian-Chinese flautist Jonathan Xue.

    Nick Hunter Nick Hunter

    Nick Hunter will launch his beautiful acoustic CD "Shoes In Boxes". Drawing from strong folk traditions, Nick first started playing on the festival circuit in the UK in the early eighties. He immigrated to Perth in 1990 and has played in numerous festivals including Nannup, Fairbridge and Toodyay. Nick's live performance is filled with his great sense of humour, rhythm and intimate songs.

    Fremantle's finest
    After 3 tours to the East Coast in under a year, David Hyams and the 'Miles to Go' band return with a new show. Joined by special guest Simon Neild in a rare solo appearance, along with Fremantle trombonist Nola Formentin and fiddler Stephanie Nicolls. They appeared live on ABC TV this year and their music was included on the Tim Winton "Dirt Music" CD.

    A sizzling double bill of contemporary theatre, devised by performing arts students of Notre Dame University, will premiere two new and original works. Flame, A colourful, musical extravaganza, tells the story of Misty, a young woman desperate to get a job, but may lose her clothes in the process. Burnt reunites four friends on the anniversary of the fiery destruction of the Zeus Bar.

    Flutist, Arshi Tope's much anticipated CD "Mirrors Breath" is here. Arshi's original compositions reflect her journey from early classical training through to the Spanish Bulerias. Rhythms of Flamenco group 'Tierra', hints of the Latin influence of 'Malembe' and an intoxication with the gamelan and tinklik riffs of Bali, inter-mingle to create a passionate sound. A talented ensemble of local musicians will be joining Arshi.

    Raslila written and directed by Mrs Sushma Paul, is an erotic, mystic, colourful, wild and enigmatic quintessence of still waters that run deep. The themes are mythological, depicting the yearnings of the lover for the beloved. The "Raslilas" are performed in North India from 16th century AD. The play is dispersed with a visual dance form "Kathak" - and songs in the "Braj" language - a dialect of Hindi.

    Ghana's Nii Tettey Tetteh brings the beat of West Africa to Kulcha. Founder of the amazing Kusun Ensemble, seen at Kulcha for two sell out shows, Nii has also worked with artists such as Stevie Wonder and Fleetwood Mac. He will be joined by Sri Lankan born percussionist Ray Pereira. Ray has long been recognized as one of Australia's leading percussionists. Both artists are mesmerizing performers.
