    Broome instrumental guitarists, Desert Child combine latin, soul, groove and have performed in Scotland, England, Indonesia, California and live on BBC in the UK. Guy Ghouse and Damian Watkiss are an established top billing national festival circuit duo and have supported artists such as James Morrisson, Willie Nelson and The Cruel Sea. Their intricate guitar work, warm grooves and innate sense of fun blend to create world class performers.

    A rare appearance outside of China by two extraordinary artists, bring the rich music and dance traditions of the Sichuan Province to Western Australia. Composer Zou Xiangping and chorographer Zhang Ping are guests of the Totally Huge New Music Festival.

    Sights & Sounds of Sichuan created by The Clocked Out Duo, Zou Xiangping and Zhang Ping
    A rare appearance outside of China by two extraordinary artists, bring the rich music and dance traditions of the Sichuan Province to Western Australia. The performance will include Sichuan opera, folk and street songs, Tibetan dance - using video, dance, traditional and modified instruments, electronic music and even mock mahjong to paint a picture of modern Chengdu city life. Composer Zou Xiangping and chorographer Zhang Ping are guests of the Totally Huge New Music Festival.

    Everyday Alchemy - friday night meditation

    Maneesha James has over 25 years experience in teaching meditation. She was the official chronicler for Osho and has written 4 internationally published books. Learning the art of being calm and collected doesn't need to be time consuming. This evening workshop will teach several smaller techniques to remain centred, relaxed and in touch with your heart. Both active and passive meditation will be used, including dancing to enhance joy and a sense of fun in life. Seasoned meditators and novices are all welcome. BYO cushion

    Annual Out Dance Festival - foot fetish

    Kulcha will be hosting Perth's first same sex dance competitions to assist in preparing our Perth same-sex couples for the Sydney Gay Games in November 2002. Ballroom and Latin American dancing is now being given the opportunity to come out of the closet. Come along and indulge yourself in an evening of social dancing whilst helping support and encourage the same-sex competitors in this alternate competitive dance spectacular.

    A giant of the folk scene, Jez Lowe is described as a fabulous entertainer, warm-hearted communicator and peerless chronicler of life in his native NE England. The harmonies and musicianship of the Bad Pennies enhance Jez's songs producing a stage performance second to none. This is Jez's 5th tour of Australia and the band's farewell concert in their 14-gig national tour. With his unique and finely crafted "Geordie" based lyrics and melodies, Jez Lowe is the most highly recorded and commissioned folk artists of today.

    Totally Gourdgeous are a band whose instruments are all made of gourd (wood). Penelope Swales plays gourd-guitar. Carl Pannuzzo plays djembe, shaker and guiro. Mal Webb plays upright fretless bass, mbira and gourd-bugle. And Andrew Clermont plays fiddle and mandolin. Oh, and they all sing in a gourdy manner of course. Their overall performance is playful and exuberant with messages of love. With hugely successful performances at Woodford Folk Festival and Port Fairy Folk festival, this is Folk Funk Philosophy at it's best.

    "One of the world's greatest and most innovative guitarists" (The West Australian). Self taught Scottish guitarist Tony McManus has a passion for traditional Celtic music in addition to his virtuoso musicianship. Tony has performed with some of the finest musicians in Britain and Ireland including Sean Keane, Rod Patterson and Phil Cunningham. His solo guitar repertoire is startling original with a mesmerising technique.

    Gypsy Masala - indian flamenco



    Three masters of the rhythmic arts come together to deliver a performance from the flamenco gypsies of Spain to the mystical and passionate sounds of India. Presented by Flamenco guitarist and composer Tim Andrew, creator of the band "Tierra", Pranjal Bora, tabla master from Northern India, and harmonic master of the six-string bass, Anthony Lindhjem. Tim Andrew has performed in the UK, Spain, Mexico, USA and in Australia over the past 25 years and composed works recorded on three albums.
